Koltsina online at STEKIUS: capture with sums
Play nowKoltsina is a capturing card game where arithmetic counts as much as luck. With one card you can capture not only the same cards from the table, but also every combination that makes the same sum. One good play can clear the whole table.
At STEKIUS you play Koltsina online for free, with two to four players, with friends or with AI players. Before you play, the game shows you what each card will capture. Below you will find all the rules: how you capture, how the points count and how you win.
The deal
Koltsina is played with one deck of 52 cards, by two to four players. Each player gets four cards and another four turn up on the table. When the hands are empty, another four are dealt to each player, until the deck runs out.
How you capture
On your turn you play a card. A number card, where the Ace counts 1, captures everything at once: every card on the table with the same value and every combination of numbers that adds up to its value. For example, a 6 on 6, 5, 1, 4 and 2 takes them all: the 6, the 5 with the 1, and the 4 with the 2.
The face cards, Jack, Queen and King, have no value and do not go into sums. A face card captures only the same face cards on the table.
Capture or leave
Whether you capture is your choice. But when you capture, you capture everything the card can take, not just a part. A card that captures nothing stays on the table.
When you tap a card that captures nothing, it goes onto the table at once. If it captures, the cards it will take light up: with a second tap you capture them all, or with “Lay it on the table” you put it down without capturing.
The end of the hand
When the deck runs out and the last cards have been played too, whatever is left on the table goes to whoever captured last. Then the points are counted.
The points
At the end of every hand these points are given out:
- The most cards: 2 points.
- The most clubs: 1 point.
- The 2 of clubs: 1 point.
- The 10 of diamonds: 1 point.
- In a tie for the most cards or clubs, nobody gets those points.
Who wins
The hands go on until someone reaches the points the table chose: 11, 21 or 31. Then whoever has the most wins. If there is a tie at the top, one more hand is played.
With friends or with bots
You open a table for two to four players and for every seat you choose whether it will be a person or a bot. For your friends you get a room code and an invitation link, and they join from their own device with their own account. You can also open a public table, to find opponents even when your friends are not online.
The bots have three levels, easy, medium and hard, and play by the same rules as you: they never see the others’ cards or the next card of the deck. They are ideal for practising your sums.
Chips and leaving
The winner wins virtual chips and the others lose. When you play only with bots, the win pays according to their level. After the first cards, whoever leaves pays a leave penalty. As soon as there is a winner, you leave freely.
Tips
- Do not leave sums on the table that the next player can easily capture.
- Keep the clubs: the point for the most clubs often decides the hand.
- Count how many face cards have fallen, so that you know whether yours will capture.
- The last capture takes whatever is left on the table; plan for it.
Questions
How much does the Ace count?
One, and it goes into sums like any other number.
Do face cards go into sums?
No. A face card captures only the same face cards on the table.
Can I capture only a part?
No. Capturing is your choice, but if you capture, you take everything the card can take.
To how many points is it played?
The table chooses: 11, 21 or 31 points. In a tie at the top one more hand is played.
