Zygos at STEKIUS: keep everything standing
Play nowZygos is a balance game where every piece counts. It gives you wood, stone and steel, cubes, planks, odd shapes and a ball, and you must drop them one by one onto a ground above the void, without anything falling. It sounds easy, until you rest a heavy stone on a thin plank.
At STEKIUS Zygos plays for free in the browser, with real physics and thirty levels that get harder and harder. You play on your own, at your own pace. Below you will find how it is played, how you pass a level and what awaits you in the more advanced ones.
The aim
Each level gives you pieces in a set order and a ground above a void. You drop each piece onto the ground or onto the earlier ones. At the top of the screen you see which pieces are coming, so you can plan ahead.
When the last piece has dropped, everything must stay standing for ten seconds: nothing may fall into the void and nothing may break. Then the level is passed, even if everything collapses a moment later.
How you play on a computer and a phone
On a computer you move the mouse to hold the piece where you want, turn it with the wheel, with the Q and E keys or with the buttons, and click to drop it.
On a phone you drag the piece with your finger. It stays a little above your finger, so you can see where it will fall. You turn it with the buttons and tap “Drop”.
The physics is real
Every material behaves as in real life. A heavy stone on a thin plank bends it, cracks it and finally breaks it. Steel is heavy and slippery. A ball slowly rolls away at the slightest slope.
A piece that falls but stays on the ground counts as normal. But if it is lost in the void or breaks, the level is not passed.
What awaits you later
As you go on, Zygos brings new challenges:
- Glass, which breaks if it falls from high up or if something heavy falls on it.
- Buildings, which do not turn and must not fall.
- Scales and seesaws, which tilt towards the heavier side.
- Oiled steel, on which everything slides.
- Things that are already there from the start and must not fall.
Stars, tries and levels
Did it fall? Try again, as many times as you like. The faster you pass a level, the more stars you get: three, two or one.
Every game is a run of ten, twenty or thirty levels, always starting from level 1 and played by one player.
Fair play and chips
The server replays every level you pass with the same physics before it counts, so that nobody can cheat. Every level you pass gives virtual chips at once, and the tries are unlimited and cost nothing. If you leave in the first minutes you pay a leave penalty; after that, leaving is free and you keep what you won. The levels give chips up to a limit each day; after that you can keep playing for free, and the chips start again the next day.
Tips
- Look at the next pieces before you drop the current one.
- Put the heavy pieces low and close to the middle.
- Do not rest a stone on a thin plank without support underneath.
- Steel and the ball slide: drop them on a flat surface.
