Ploutos online at STEKIUS: buy, build, win
Play nowPloutos is a board game of streets, houses and rents, where every roll can make you rich or bring you to the edge of bankruptcy. You buy streets, build, make trades and wait for your opponents to land on your properties.
At STEKIUS Ploutos is played online for free, with two to four players, with friends or with bots. The board has the famous streets of a real city: the city of whoever opens the table. Below you will find all the rules, from rents to mortgages and bankruptcy.
The start and the rolls
2 to 4 players play, or you with up to three bots. Everyone starts with the same game money and goes round the board. On your turn you roll the two dice and your token moves forward. When you pass Start, you get money from the bank.
With doubles you roll again. Three doubles in a row, though, send you straight to jail.
Buying and auctions
When you land on a street, station or company that nobody owns, you can buy it, even by taking out a mortgage or selling houses to find the money.
If you do not buy it and the table plays with auctions, everyone can bid as much as they like or pass. The highest bid takes it, and if nobody bids it stays with the bank.
Rents, houses and hotels
When you land on someone else’s street, you pay rent: more for every house and much more for a hotel. A whole colour group doubles the rent of its empty streets. Stations pay more the more of them you own, and companies pay according to the dice.
With a whole colour group you can build: houses evenly across its streets, up to four, and then a hotel. Buildings are sold back to the bank at half price.
Mortgages
The bank gives you half the price of a street as a mortgage. The street stays yours, but it collects no rent until you pay it off, with a small extra amount. A colour with houses cannot be mortgaged, and no house can be built while a street of the colour is mortgaged. A mortgaged street that changes hands costs a small amount to whoever takes it.
Your turn and trades
Before you roll you build, pay off mortgages and make offers. After the roll you only do what the square you landed on says, and the turn passes by itself to the next player. If the money is not enough, you sell houses and take out mortgages.
In trades you can offer any player money, streets without buildings and get-out-of-jail cards, for whatever they have. The other player has a few seconds to accept.
Cards, jail and bankruptcy
Opportunity and Vault move you, pay you or make you pay. You get out of jail by paying, with a card or by rolling doubles; after three tries you pay and move on.
If you cannot pay even after selling buildings and taking out mortgages, you go bankrupt: everything you have goes to whoever you owed or to the bank. Whoever is left last wins, or, with a time limit, the richest when it runs out.
Time, chips and leaving
Every roll and every move has a time limit. When it runs out, the game plays for you without buying anything, and after a few such rolls you are out. The virtual chips are shared out by place: what the first players win, the last ones lose. Whoever leaves after the first rolls pays a leave penalty and comes last; when there is a winner, you leave freely.
